Create & Connect was built on the belief that better conversations lead to better teams, stronger relationships and healthier businesses.
Like a lot of good ideas, Create & Connect started through conversation.
After being introduced through mutual connections, Mike and Nicci quickly realised they approached people, communication and creativity in a very similar way. Conversations turned into ideas, ideas turned into workshops and before long it became obvious there was something bigger developing.
The combination of creativity, wellbeing and real business experience created a different type of environment — one where people relaxed quickly, conversations flowed naturally and teams genuinely connected.
Thankfully, having the same sense of humour helped too.

Nicci Rushfirth brings experience in wellbeing, communication and helping people feel comfortable enough to contribute openly and honestly.
After meeting Mike through a mutual connection, it quickly became obvious that their skills complemented each other naturally. What started as conversations around creativity and connection soon developed into workshops, events and the foundations of Create & Connect.
Nicci brings warmth, energy and emotional intelligence to sessions, helping create the relaxed and inclusive atmosphere that sits at the heart of the business.
Although to be fair, she’s usually halfway into the next creative idea before Mike’s finished explaining the first one.

Meet Mike
Mike Hall is the founder of MJH ArtStudio and has spent nearly 40 years working across marketing, design, illustration and business development. Yes he really is that old.
After years of helping businesses communicate visually, Mike saw first-hand how creativity changes the way people interact, collaborate and connect with each other.
A chance introduction to Nicci Rushfirth quickly turned into regular conversations, shared ideas and eventually the realisation that they worked brilliantly together. The combination of creativity, communication and people-focused thinking naturally evolved into Create & Connect.
Mike brings commercial thinking, creative energy and a straightforward Northern approach to the sessions — along with the occasional terrible joke.
